Amy's story. 

In October 2021, my world was shattered when my husband of 21 years, Kevin Cordell, passed unexpectedly.  He was my everything - my best friend, my confidant, my co-parent, my provider and protector, my comedic relief, my love. I adored him, and still do. I knew I couldn't walk this grief journey alone and was grateful to be able to find support groups as a new widow. Kevin and I had three children that were 18, 13, and 8 at the time. Unfortunately I could not find grief community for them. My heart longed for them to know they weren't alone. So, with the Lord's prompting and the help of my sister-in-law, Angie Helton, we launched our very first Better Together Summer Camp in July 2022, where we brought together kids and teens that had all lost a parent. There is strength and healing in being in community and sharing our stories. And ultimately all our hope and healing are in Jesus.
